(Temple, TX – January 18, 2021) Patricia Cadigan, M. Ed., has been named Artcobell Director of Learning Environments. Ms. Cadigan joined Artcobell in 2019 after 28 years in public education, including more than 17 years in school administration.
“In my most recent role as Bond Administrator, I became intimately engaged with the complex process that schools go through as they transform their learning environments to meet the needs of evolving curriculums, teaching and learning strategies,” says Cadigan. “I look forward to using that experience to help others get the best results they can for their students.”
In her new role, Ms. Cadigan will assist schools with transitioning their educational furnishings to meet the needs of current learning strategies, while reinforcing the need for greater student engagement and providing safe, secure, and supportive environments in which they can learn. Additionally, she will support the teams that work with schools: architects and interior designers, project managers and contractors. Responsibilities include professional development, training, and research to connect learning spaces with best practices for teaching and learning. Her expertise will help teams better understand how furnishings can promote engaging and supportive learning environments.
“We understand that learning strategies are evolving and that there is a lot of information out there about how the furniture in a school can impact student achievement,” says Rick Parker, president, Artcobell. “Patricia has a unique perspective that allows her to see the challenges from the perspective of the school leadership. Her role is as a consultant to assist school planning teams in making the connection between their vision of student achievement and the way they set up their learning environments.”
Cadigan is author of the Next Gen Spaces blog on Artcobell.com, as well as numerous other planning resources that she uses in online and in-person collaboration with schools. Artcobell is a manufacturer of innovative K-12 school furniture, made entirely in the United States for today’s flexible learning environments.
