Clinton Elementary Schools

Project

During the fall of 2012 a new 150,000 square foot school campus was opened. Home to Northside Elementary, a second and third grade school and Eastside Elementary, a fourth and fifth grade school.

The quest for excellence was at the top of the agenda, along with providing stimulating instruction and challenging opportunities for students at both schools.

Location: Clinton, Mississippi

District: Clinton Public Schools

School Type: Public 2-3 & 4-5 Elementary Schools

Design Intent

The architect’s vision for the new campus included a strong focus on flexible environments to allow teachers the freedom to arrange their own classrooms.

The school took on a fresh, clean and modern vibe with new technology including iPads and flat screen TVs throughout the schools.

Solution

Using the Discover student desk allows teachers to arrange their classrooms for group-work or individual testing. The furniture offers flexibility from classroom to classroom.

Activity tables are used in classrooms to provide additional areas for collaborative learning, giving students the option to step away from their desks and focus on a group project or meet with the teacher
